Last updated: May 2025

Scope and purpose

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Royance website and the professional services offered through it. By accessing this website or engaging Royance for any service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Royance provides royalty income tracking, statement reconciliation, and licensing reporting services to authors, musicians, rights holders, and other creators. These terms describe the conditions under which those services are provided.

1. Service usage

Acceptable use

  • — Services are intended for lawful use by rights holders and their authorised representatives.
  • — You may use Royance's services for personal or professional accounting and reporting purposes related to intellectual property income.
  • — You may not use the website or services to process data belonging to third parties without their explicit authorisation.

Prohibited uses

  • — Submitting false, misleading, or fabricated documentation for processing.
  • — Attempting to gain unauthorised access to Royance's systems or data.
  • — Using the website or services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable regulations.
  • — Reproducing or distributing Royance's reports or outputs without permission.

Access requirements

Access to services requires submission of the documents necessary to perform the requested work. Royance reserves the right to decline engagements where insufficient information is provided.

Fair usage

Royance's services are provided on a one-to-one professional basis. Each engagement is scoped individually. If your needs evolve materially during an engagement, revised terms may be agreed in writing.

2. Account and access

Client relationship. A service relationship begins when Royance confirms receipt of your engagement request and the scope of work is agreed between both parties.

Security responsibilities. You are responsible for the accuracy of documents and data you provide. Any error or omission in supplied materials may affect the quality of the work produced.

Termination. Either party may end an ongoing engagement with reasonable notice. Any work completed up to the point of termination remains billable per the agreed terms.

Multiple engagements. Clients may hold more than one active service arrangement with Royance, provided each is scoped and agreed separately.

3. Service availability

Delivery timelines. Royance aims to deliver reports and statements within timelines agreed at the outset of an engagement. Delays caused by incomplete or late submission of client materials will not be Royance's responsibility.

Website availability. Royance endeavours to keep the website available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance may occasionally result in brief downtime.

Geographic availability. Royance serves clients globally. There are no geographic restrictions on engagement, though the provision of services in certain jurisdictions may require additional regulatory consideration.

Modifications. Royance may update its service offerings, pricing, or processes at any time. Existing engagements continue under the terms agreed unless amendments are accepted in writing by both parties.

4. Intellectual property

Content ownership. All website content, including text, structure, and design, is the property of Royance and may not be reproduced without permission.

Client-supplied materials. Documents, statements, and contracts you provide remain your property. Royance uses them solely for the purpose of delivering the agreed service and does not claim any rights over them.

Deliverables. Reports and statements produced by Royance for a client are provided for that client's personal and professional use. They may be shared with authorised advisors (solicitors, accountants) but not reproduced commercially.

Trademarks. The Royance name and any associated marks are the property of Royance and may not be used without written consent.
